A Note from Our Executive Director
about Negative Campaigns and Information
Over the past number of months, we have seen an increase of activity by some individuals who feel the need to discredit West Ridge Academy, its caring staff, and long-standing record of success in helping to bring hope and healing to families and young men and women everywhere.
These individuals have created a campaign to distribute information that is not representative of the current program, work or mission of West Ridge Academy.
While it is not consistent with our Mission and Values at West Ridge Academy to respond to such attacks, we would encourage any and all who may be confused by these negative messages to research carefully the 45 year history of West Ridge Academy, contact its employees and hopefully visit the campus so that you may see and feel for yourself the nature of care given to each of our students and families.
As with all important causes which attempt to help individuals change, despite the large numbers of souls benefitted, not all recipients of the care and assistance offered respond in ways that result in our goal here at West Ridge: a change of heart. Often, when behaviors which trouble individuals are challenged, the challenging entity and professionals are subject to backlash and attack. In essence, if there was not a small population of those that rebel against treatment, we would know that we are not doing enough.
We encourage each of you to come to our campus, visit with our staff and with our current students and feel the spirit of the work done at West Ridge Academy. We are certain that you will feel, as we do each and every day, that calming influence and reassurance that comes when a group of people are genuinely seeking to help others.
For those of our past parents and students, we encourage you not to fuel the negative campaign by getting involved in blogs and other comment wars. It only poisons the soul and minimizes the great good that has come by our time together.
Our best wishes to all of our past students, both those that experienced a tremendous change, and those that still struggle. Our hearts and best hopes are with you and your families.
Warmly,
Kenneth R Allen
