Dedicated and caring staff
July 28, 2010
Dedication. experience. tenure. and passion. These are West Ridge Academy's core qualities that embody the more than 115 professional, clinical and support staff at the West Jordan facility.
Trusting your child with anyone, especially to a program designed to help them make the right choices early in life may be one of the most important choices a parent can make. WRA officials say their dedicated and caring staff make all the difference in that child's experience while at the program.
"A quality that sets us apart is our outstanding staff," says Kenneth R. Allen, Executive Director at West Ridge. "Not only is our 115-person staff experienced and well-trained, they love what they do and truly care about the youth's success."
The professional and academic achievements of the West Ridge staff speak for themselves.
Take Guy Hardcastle, for example.
Hardcastle is Director of Business Development and Admissions at WRA, and a Utah man all the way, with a BA and MPA from the University of Utah. He has spent more than a decade working with at-risk students, both in Salt Lake-area schools as well as being involved with wilderness and residential programs.
Hardcastle has also worked with thousands of adolescents and adults facilitating experiences on ropes courses, in classrooms, in various outdoor settings and anywhere else a group of people can be gathered.
Along with the rest of the West Ridge Academy staff, Guy has a deep love and skill in working with groups, building relationships and helping others achieve success.
"Upon graduation, I like to ask the youth what part of our program helped them the most," Executive Director Allen added. "Without hesitation the most frequent answer I receive is our staff."
